In 2014, God began to stir in Derek and Kristin’s heart a desire to move their lives to the Salt Lake area to serve and love the people there. Having never been to Salt Lake City and not knowing what ministry would look like, they took a trip out in early 2015, and after visiting the city, believed God was leading them to plant a church in the valley. In February of 2017 they moved to Herriman, UT where they were joined by four other families who also moved out to be a part of the church.
Driven by a passion to see the city of Herriman and the surrounding cities, come to experience the love of Jesus, they launched Awaken City Church on March 25, 2018.
What we Value

What to expect
Where do I go?
We meet at Providence Hall Jr. High every Sunday at 10:30am (look for the Awaken City banners). After you pull into the parking lot off of Patriot Ridge Dr., you will walk up the sidewalk to the frontside of the building. You will be greeted by someone from our connections team who can help direct you and answer any questions you might have. There will also be signs directing you where to go.
How long is the service?
Our service lasts around 1-hour 15-minutes. If you have any questions, we would love for you to ask one of our connection team members before or after the service. (Hint: you can usually find them hovering around the snacks!)
What do I do with my kids?
All children are welcome to stay in the service with you, or take part in Awaken City Kids, where your children will experience Jesus on their own level. Children from birth to Kindergarten can be checked in as soon as you arrive, while those in 1st through 5th grade will gather during the teaching time of the service. Everyone on our Awaken City Kids team, has been background-checked to ensure we're providing a safe & fun environment, where you can feel comfortable with your children attending, and one your kids will ask to come back to, week after week!
We also recommend on your first time joining us, to pre-register your children by clicking the link below, or arrive 15 minutes early to have time register them in person.
What should I wear?
Don’t feel like you have to dress up. Most people wear casual attire, but you are welcome to wear whatever makes you comfortable.
